This is an original idea I've had recently. There are seven wolf packs that had once been at war, the packs hired rogue groups of wolves, there were four groups in all and they would change sides without hesitation. However even among the rogue groups one group was feared the most. They have power that is unknown and unpredictable but the group is strange in itself.
Part One
Hues of pinks and purples showed that the morning was upon all that lived in the Granthal Forest. Lush with vegetation but growing from soiled earth that had once been covered in blood of many fallen wolves and other animals of the forest. A great war had taken place here, even to this day, faint whispers of howls and yells can be heard on the foggiest and darkest of days. A young dark gray wolf crouched low to the earth, his belly almost touching the ground as his eyes remained focused on his prey before him. A white tail deer, a doe who was alone and limping bad. The young wolf hated killing weak prey but his pack needed the food. He was a prince among his pack, it was his duty to hunt and provide protection for all in his pack like his father did.
The wind blew down on him, he was down wind of the deer. The deer couldn't smell him and even if it had, it wouldn't get away with a hurt leg. The Prince readied himself to pounce as he slowly made his way closer to his prey. He was but a few feet away when he jumped out at the deer. The doe ran in the opposite direction heading right for the two hunters that he had brought with him for the hunt. Just as the doe made her way up a hill, a dark brown male and a much larger black male with his left ear ripped in half jumped at the doe. She had no time to avoid the attack. The two males made her fall, the Prince came to their side and gave the doe a death blow by sinking his fangs into her throat. The doe's eyes rolled back and all light faded from her dark eyes.
The Prince and his comrades dragged their prey back to the pack which was hidden by stones and a thick trees. The three males took a mouthful each of meat and went to their favorite place to rest and eat. A light gray almost silver like slender female with a blue star at the corner of her right eye walked gracefully to the Prince.
"You've done well my son." she spoke, her voice soft and sweet. The Prince smiled at his mother. Though she didn't look it she had age on her but she never acted like it.
"The pack will eat good today. Where is father?" The Prince asked. His mother looked over her shoulder toward a small cave entrance, that was the alpha's den. The alpha was a big dark gray male with scars lining his strong body, his eyes were dark and sharp as if they could see everything, he had seen much death and blood.
"You father has been in silence for a week now." The alphaess said with a worried sigh. A week before the pack leaders of all the wolf packs had meet as was part of the treaty that was made foe peace between the packs. There was a new threat to the packs, lions! Traveling from the far east, lions had gathered together to take the land that the wolves had claimed at the beginning. This was not the first time that the lions had tried to take their land.
"What was said at the meeting?" The Prince asked his mother. From the laws of the packs only the alpha male and alpha female could could attend the meeting of leaders.
"I believe that is something your father should say." The alphaess said as she turned on her heels. With a short but brisk walk the light gray female stood at the meal her son and his friends had hunted. She tore off a large piece and made her way to the alpha's den.
Inside the den, the big alpha sat in silence. His eyes closed and his tail lightly thumping the ground at his paws. His thoughts were on the conversation of the meeting. The packs had not had peace for long and now it would seem war was upon them again.
"Dear you need to eat." The alphaess said as she placed the large piece of meat at his feet. The alpha looked at his mate, she was beautiful and he didn't want to see her or anyone in his pack hurt.
"I will eat later. There is something the pack needs to know." He said.
The alpha got to his paws and made his way out of the den. Just as he existed the den, all eyes found him and everything went silent. He didn't waste time to talk.
"Everyone, I'm sure you all know about the lions attacking all the packs. At the meeting that was held a week ago the packs came to an unsure conclusion. Even with the packs joining together we're not strong enough to defeat the lions. During the war as I'm sure some of you remember there were groups of rogue wolves. One group in particular was sentenced to death after the war. However one of the leaders has kept it secret that the bloodline of this very group is still alive. That group is Raging Shadow!" Gasps and snarls could be heard from all over the pack.
The Prince and his friends didn't know what was going on.
"Father, who are the Raging Shadows?" The Prince asked, He had never heard of them.
"The Raging Shadows were a very fierce and powerful rogue wolf group. They switched sides many times during the war. They had power that no one had ever seen before, I had the chance to speak with the leader before his death. He vowed that his blood line would never end. His mate was killed along with tof the rest of his group however we now know that he was telling the truth. I believe the female who we killed was not his mate bit a stand in while his real mate lived and gave birth to pups. The next meeting is tomorrow, the packs can't afford to wait any longer for a decision, I believe it would be beat to find the Raging Shadow pups and have them help us." The alpha said.
Many protested against it, others were to afraid to go against having them. The alpha had made up his mind and had a feeling that the other packs would agree with joining the groups and packs together.
